Reflecting on a decade of closing the digital divide and building technical leadership across Africa.
Published on March 18, 2026
Over the past decade, Pearls Africa Youth Foundation has been at the forefront of a movement to ensure that African girls and young women are not just participants in the digital economy, but leaders of it.
Our journey began with a simple yet powerful mission: to equip girls from underserved communities with the skills and mentorship needed to thrive in the technology landscape. From our flagship GirlsCoding program to our pioneering Girls in AI initiative, we have reached over 10,000 girls, providing them with the tools to build their own futures.
Explore the detailed stories, data, and insights from our decade of impact.
Our impact extends far beyond lines of code. It is seen in the confidence of a young girl presenting her first AI project, in the leadership of women navigating technical careers, and in the transformed classrooms of educators trained through our AI Teachers Fellowship.
This report captures the essence of our work — the challenges we've overcome, the milestones we've celebrated, and the vision that continues to drive us forward as we navigate the rapidly evolving era of artificial intelligence.
As we look to the next decade, our commitment remains unwavering. We are expanding our reach, deepening our curriculum, and strengthening our ecosystem to ensure that every girl in Africa has the opportunity to become a technical leader and innovator.
